Meet the Magician .... Q&A
When did you first become interested in magic?
I was 6 years old. A magician visited a scouting program and from that moment on I have been studying the art of magic and entertainment. I have come to realize that a true magician conjures up dreams not demonstrate tricks. I started my professional career at 13.
What performance was your most memorable?
Being on stage in Las Vegas performing my act in The World's Greatest Magic Show with David Copperfield watching in the audience.
Have you ever performed for any celebrities?
Yes, a good many of them. Like Larry King, former United States President Jimmy Carter, Hall of Fame football star Walter Payton and others. My personal favorite was being the opening act for the late great Ray Charles.
What advice would you give to people just getting their start in magic?
Be yourself when performing. Start by working on a three minute act and grow from there. Study the art of magic and develope your own presentation. Most importantly thank God for everything.
What did performing in Las Vegas for a decade teach you?
I was fortunate to always be involved with family styled shows. I performed nightly and had about 14 days off per year. I learned that no two shows are alike. Each show is unique because every audience is different.
Do you do anything else besides magic?
Yes, I have been in marketing for almost as long as I have been a magician.
Do you perform on weekends?
Yes, I do perform on weekends.
